CELEBRATION OF THE NATIVITY
Community Multi-Faith Christmas Event
Performance Guidelines
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has hand selected some musical talent to perform at at the Celebration of the Nativity event. The event will take place this Christmas season on December 12-14, 2023, at the Montano Chapel located at 1100 Montano Rd NW, ABQ, 87107. The event will display 500+ nativity sets from around the world for the public to enjoy.
The event will host a number of musical presentations for the public to enjoy as they view the displayed nativities. These presentations will be scheduled in 30-minute intervals throughout the event. There will be rooms available for warm-up (30 minutes prior to performance) and short-term storage. This room will be monitored and secured.
If you would like to be considered to present a musical number, please contact Christie at the information above and read the following guidelines.
Performances will run from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 12th, Friday, December 13th and from 11:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Saturday, December 14th.
The chapel choir section will be the performance area and will have an organ and a piano available for your use. We ask that any additional instruments that you would also like to use be limited to items that can be set up and taken down within the 10-minute change period between performance groups. We also ask that you refrain from using percussion instruments, brass instruments and any musical instrument that uses an amp. Acoustical guitars are fine.
With the understanding that we are celebrating the Christmas season, we ask that your musical selection be focused appropriately.
The performance area is 42-feet wide and 22-feet deep and has 58 choir chairs already in-place with the potential to add additional chairs as needed.
Parking and performer’s entrance will be provided on the west end of the building. Please keep in mind that, although parking will be provided, parking is limited and carpooling is recommended.
If you are interested in participating in this event or have any additional questions or concerns, please contact Christie Boyack at 505-550-9909 cboyack8@gmail.com (North Stake) or Melissa Spencer (505) 463-5120 melissa.lee.spencer@gmail.com as soon as possible. Performance days and times are on a first come, first serve basis. Additional information will be provided as the date of the event draws closer.
We invite you and your friends to join us for this joyous occasion as we celebrate the birth of our Lord this Christmas season.
